Birth Certificates
Whitman County Public Health is able to issue
certified copies of birth certificates for anyone born in the State of
Washington since 1936. In some cases, records are able to go as far back
as 1875! Cost for a certified copy is $20.00 each. To order, fill
out the order form and bring it to the
Health Department or mail it to the Washington State Department of Health.
NEW - Requests
received Monday through Wednesday will be available that Friday. Requests
received on a Thursday or Friday will be available on the following Friday.
Death Certificates
In the event that a copy of a death
certificate is needed, Whitman County Public Health has all certificates on file
for the last 60 days. Certificates that were issued before then, can be
ordered from the Washington State Department of Health's. The cost for a
certified copy is $20.00.To order, fill out the
order form and bring it to the
Health Department or mail it to the Washington State Department of Health.

The Vital Statistics Department of Whitman
County Public Health can assist you in locating records of relatives. The
department has many records on file, and access to many more in the Department
of Health's databank. Contact the department for assistance or additional
information. To order, fill out the
order form and bring it to the
Health Department or mail it to the Washington State Department of Health.
Heirloom Birth
Certificates
Heirloom
birth certificates can be ordered through the Washington State Department of
Health. These attractive 8 1/2" x 14" certificates are a legal and official
document. The certificates include the individual's name, date and place of
birth, as well as the name and birthplace of the parent(s). It is signed by the
Governor and the State Registrar, and is printed in full color. The Heirloom
Birth Certificate is a permanent keepsake for anyone born in the State of
Washington.
Purchasing an Heirloom Birth
Certificate helps to protect Washington's most valuable resource ' children. For
each $25 purchase of an Heirloom Birth Certificate, $14.50 is tax-deductible.
More than half of the certificate's cost benefits the Washington Children's
Trust Fund (managed by the Washington Council for Prevention of Child Abuse and
Neglect), that supports community-based programs that strengthen families.
