Anonymous HIV Counseling and Testing
Q: How can you tell
if you have been infected with HIV ' the virus that causes AIDS?
A: If you have done
things that put you at risk, the only way to know for sure is to take an HIV
antibody test. You can be infected with HIV for ten years or more without
having any symptoms. If you are infected, early treatment can help you stay
healthier and you can prevent passing the infection on to others.
Q: How much does the test cost?
A: Fees are based on income using a
sliding scale. Clients may be charged a minimum fee of $15. Fees
will be discussed with the counselor. Free testing may be available to
clients who fall into a high-risk category. This will be reviewed at the
time of your appointment.
